Dr. Martin T. Rothman is a Europe-based Venture Partner at Sofinnova Partners and serves as the Chief Medical Officer at HighLife. Before transitioning to venture capital and corporate leadership roles, he practiced as an interventional cardiologist in the United Kingdom for 37 years, which included a 27-year tenure directing cardiac research and development at the London Chest Hospital. In 2010, Rothman joined Medtronic as Vice President of Medical Affairs, where he advanced transcatheter mitral valve replacement technology and managed programs in renal denervation. As a physician-entrepreneur, he founded multiple medical device startups, including LimFlow and Corflow Therapeutics in 2016, to address chronic limb-threatening ischemia and other complex cardiovascular conditions. Since retiring from clinical practice in 2018, Rothman has focused on evaluating emerging medical device technologies and mentoring new entrepreneurs launching novel structural heart interventions.
