Massimo Sgrelli

Massimo Sgrelli is the Founder and Managing Partner of LombardStreet Ventures, an early-stage venture capital firm based in Menlo Park, California. With over 25 years of technology industry experience, he began his career at a big-five consulting firm building scalable architectures before co-founding two unicorn companies, including the cloud infrastructure provider Sysdig Inc. Since transitioning to Silicon Valley angel investing in 2010, Sgrelli notably served as the first angel investor in the open-source API platform Kong Inc. Through LombardStreet Ventures, he recently launched the firm's second fund in 2026, executing 17 investments during the first part of the year with typical check sizes ranging from $100,000 to $1 million. His current investment strategy centers on providing pre-seed and seed capital to United States-based enterprise software, artificial intelligence, and developer tool startups demonstrating initial market traction.
