Mathias Biilmann Christensen

Mathias Biilmann Christensen is a Managing Partner at Balderton Capital based in London, England, United Kingdom. Before transitioning to venture capital, he served as the co-founder and CEO of Netcompany from 2000 to 2017, scaling the digital services firm to more than 4,000 employees and over €500 million in revenue. An alumnus of the Technical University of Denmark with a background in computer science, he has also built a personal portfolio of more than 20 angel investments. Since joining Balderton in 2022, he has managed investments across early-stage European technology startups, contributing to a broader firm portfolio that includes notable unicorns such as Revolut and Darktrace. Recently participating in a €25 million Series A funding round for an artificial intelligence company in March 2025, Christensen currently focuses on backing early-stage enterprise software, fintech, and AI ventures across Europe.
