Mathias Schilling

Mathias Schilling is the Co-founder and Managing Partner at Headline, a global venture capital firm based in San Francisco, California. Originally from Germany, he established the firm to bring traditional Sand Hill Road investment practices to international markets, deliberately operating outside of Silicon Valley in Santa Barbara during the firm's early formative years. Over the past 15 years, Schilling has scaled Headline to operate across seven global cities, managing a global portfolio of over 300 active venture investments with check sizes ranging from $1 million to $50 million. He spearheaded the development of the firm's proprietary technology infrastructure, which utilizes a 20-person engineering team and artificial intelligence to track and analyze over eight million early-stage hypergrowth companies. His current investment focus centers on sourcing early-stage and growth equity opportunities within the application software, consumer, e-commerce, media, and fintech sectors.
