Matt Gorniak is the Managing Partner at Long Journey Ventures, an early-stage venture capital firm based in San Francisco, California. Before transitioning to venture capital, he served as the co-founder and CEO of Heap Analytics, which was acquired by Contentsquare in 2023. Earlier in his career, he held product and engineering positions at Twilio and Parse, following his computer science studies at the University of California, Berkeley. At Long Journey Ventures, which manages over $100 million in assets, he oversees a portfolio of more than 50 investments spanning pre-seed to Series A stages. He recently led a Series A investment in the artificial intelligence startup Nexlify in 2025 and regularly addresses industry challenges at events like TechCrunch Disrupt. Gorniak currently focuses on leveraging his operational experience to back founders building enterprise software, developer tools, and financial technology.
