Matt Mullenweg is the Founder and CEO of Automattic and a Partner at Audrey Capital, based in San Francisco, California. He originally created WordPress, an open-source content management system that currently powers more than forty percent of all websites globally. Through Automattic, Mullenweg commercializes web publishing products like Tumblr and WooCommerce, leading the enterprise to a $7.5 billion valuation following a $250 million share buyback and a $300 million funding round led by Salesforce Ventures. Before launching his current ventures in late 2005, he worked at CNET Networks and completed his early education and consulting work in Houston, Texas. As an angel investor via Audrey Capital, he has backed numerous startups, including Pointy, which was later acquired by Google. His ongoing focus remains centered on expanding open-source software infrastructure, digital retail ecosystems, and strategic technology investments.
