Matt Pauker

Matt Pauker is a General Partner at Cleo Capital, an early-stage venture capital investment firm based in New York City, New York. He currently manages a $25 million second fund that closed in 2022, overseeing a growing portfolio of more than 30 companies with notable early investments in Alloy, Equip Health, and AgentSync. Before establishing Cleo Capital, Pauker served as a Principal at Maveron and held earlier investment and operational roles at Bain Capital Ventures and the audio platform SoundCloud. He earned a Bachelor of Arts in History from the University of Pennsylvania and recently contributed an op-ed to Forbes analyzing emerging venture capital market trends in 2026. His current investment strategy primarily focuses on pre-seed and seed-stage startups led by underrepresented founders across the financial technology, enterprise software, developer tools, and climate technology sectors.
