Matthew Rizzo

Matthew Rizzo is a General Partner at OrbiMed Advisors in New York City, where he currently heads the Royalty and Credit Opportunities team. Since joining the healthcare investment firm in 2010, he has helped launch its first dedicated royalty and credit fund and led more than $6 billion in structured capital investments across the global life sciences sector. Prior to his current tenure at OrbiMed, Rizzo served as Senior Director of business development at the pharmaceutical company Ikaria, managed life sciences investments at Fortress Investment Group, and directed global commercial strategy at GSK. He also currently serves as a board director at OmniGuide and holds a Master of Business Administration in Health Sector Management from Duke University. His thirty years of professional experience center on providing structured credit and royalty financing solutions to multi-stage global healthcare companies.
