Matthias Hilpert is the CEO of MH2 Capital GmbH, an early-stage investment firm based in Berlin, Germany. Before transitioning to full-time investing, he spent over two decades in telecommunications and private equity, holding operating roles at Vodafone, Orange, and Salt. During his final operating position, Hilpert managed a EUR 1 billion P&L and contributed to an Apax Partners private equity cycle that generated EUR 800 million in enterprise value. Through his current vehicle, he has built a portfolio of over 30 early-stage technology companies across Europe, resulting in at least eight exits to date. Alongside his investments, he founded the UNIPRENEURS initiative in 2023 and published quantitative research analyzing the innovation activities of DAX companies. Hilpert currently focuses on early-stage technology, real estate, and public assets while actively supporting the broader European innovation ecosystem.
