Mattias Ljungman is a veteran venture capitalist and the Founder and Managing Partner of Moonfire Ventures, a European seed fund managing $60 million in capital. Before establishing Moonfire in 2020, he co-founded the venture capital firm Atomico in 2006 alongside Skype founder Niklas Zennström, serving as a partner for thirteen years. During his tenure at Atomico, Ljungman backed several prominent technology companies, including Supercell, which achieved a $5 billion exit to SoftBank, and Klarna, which reached a $10,650,000,000 valuation. His extensive portfolio also features early stakes in Viagogo and Climate Corp, which was acquired by Monsanto for $1,100,000,000, building on a career that began as a research analyst in the 1990s. Today, he focuses on early-stage European technology startups, utilizing proprietary machine learning technology to source and evaluate technical founders building B2B SaaS solutions.
