Maurice Werdegar

Maurice Werdegar is the Chairman and Investment Partner at Western Technology Investment (WTI), an early-stage venture capital firm. Prior to his current role, he served as the firm's Chief Executive Officer from 2009 to 2021, guiding its investment strategy in the technology sector. His earlier career includes positions as a Venture Partner at Outlook Ventures, Chief Investment Officer at MetaMarkets, and a corporate finance professional at Robertson Stephens. As an entrepreneur, Werdegar founded and operated venture-backed restaurant chains, serving as the Chief Executive Officer of both Left at Albuquerque and Blue Chalk Café. He holds a Bachelor of Arts and a Master of Business Administration from Stanford University, where he currently serves on the Board of Trustees and the DAPER Investment Fund board. Werdegar maintains a primary focus on early-stage technology investments and institutional philanthropic leadership.
