Maximilien Bacot

Maximilien Bacot is the Co-founder and Managing Partner at Breega, an early-stage venture capital firm based in Paris, France. Under his leadership, the firm manages over €400 million in assets under management across three funds, including a €300 million vehicle closed in 2024, and maintains a portfolio of more than 50 companies. Bacot has personally directed over 20 investments, backing startups such as Dust.tt while overseeing notable portfolio exits involving Payfit and Shift Technology. Before establishing Breega, he began his career in investment banking at Lazard and subsequently co-founded multiple technology startups, including Payname, which was later acquired by BNP Paribas. Holding a Master's degree in Finance from HEC Paris, his current investment focus centers on pre-seed to Series A opportunities across the European B2B SaaS, fintech, climate tech, and artificial intelligence sectors.
