Maxwell Obi

Maxwell Obi is the Founder of Waza, operating as a two-time founder and experienced entrepreneur within the global financial technology sector. Previously, he served as the Global Head of Business at Sendwave, a technology enterprise from the Winter 2012 batch that was acquired by Worldremit for $500 million. During his executive tenure at Sendwave, he navigated international partnerships and managed complex regulatory relationships across various markets in Africa, Asia, and Latin America. Before his time at Sendwave, Obi co-founded Amplify, a Nigeria-based financial technology startup that was acquired by Carbon in 2019. He holds a degree in Computer Science and initially established his professional background working directly in the software engineering field. Obi currently focuses his career on leveraging his technical and operational background to build and scale new ventures in the financial technology industry.
