Mazen Hammad

Mazen Hammad is a Vice President on the investment team at Optum Ventures, a corporate venture capital fund where he focuses on early-stage and growth-stage healthcare venture capital investments. Prior to joining the venture capital firm, he served as a Senior M&A Analyst at UnitedHealth Group, a multinational diversified healthcare and health insurance corporation. During his tenure in that corporate development role, Hammad concentrated heavily on enterprise-wide transaction execution, financial modeling, and overarching corporate strategy initiatives for the organization. He completed his formal undergraduate education by earning a Bachelor of Science degree in Finance from the Carlson School of Management at the University of Minnesota in the Twin Cities. Today, his professional background and current mandate center entirely on healthcare investing, evaluating emerging medical technologies, and executing strategic financial transactions across the broader healthcare ecosystem.
