Previously, he served as Managing Director of URBAN-X for BMW Group and MINI, building a portfolio of over 70 startups focused on urban infrastructure and mobility. Earlier, Kotch was Director of Innovation and Entrepreneurship at the NYU Tandon School of Engineering and a Strategic Advisor at NYSERDA, leading the $40 million NY Prize microgrid initiative. He also served as core faculty for the NSF I-CORPS program and is a Founding Partner of the C3 climate investment syndicate. With over two decades of experience supporting entrepreneurs, his current focus centers on industrial decarbonization, energy transition, and the built environment across Blackhorn's $200 million portfolio.
