Michael Bacani

Michael Bacani is the co-founder and Chief Technology Officer of Opusense AI, an artificial intelligence software company based in Canada. Founded in 2024 alongside Roya Cody, the two-person startup leverages over fifteen years of combined industry experience and was recently accepted into the Y Combinator Spring 2025 batch. As CTO, Bacani leads the development of an automated field inspection reporting tool designed to reduce report writing time for engineering consulting firms by up to five times. He previously studied Electrical and Computer Engineering at the University of Waterloo, where he specialized in building artificial intelligence systems for robotics and autonomous vehicles. Prior to establishing Opusense AI, he worked as an engineer across several construction technology startups. His current focus centers on integrating machine learning capabilities into legacy construction workflows to streamline field data management and engineering operations.
