Michael Callahan

Michael Callahan is a General Partner at NFX based in San Francisco, California, where he focuses on sourcing and advising seed and Series A internet and marketplace startups. Prior to his current role, he served as a Principal at NFX starting in 2018 and held earlier investment positions at Lerer Hippeau Ventures, Collaborative Fund, and RRE Ventures. Callahan has backed more than 40 companies during his tenure at NFX, including notable investments in Stytch, Joist, and Proposify, and recently co-led the firm's $140 million fundraise in March 2025. He holds a Bachelor of Arts in Mathematics from the University of Oxford and an Artium Baccalaureus in Social Studies, graduating summa cum laude from Harvard University. His current investment strategy centers on early-stage consumer technology, fintech, and internet software companies operating within complex marketplace dynamics.
