Michael Donnelly is the Co-founder, Partner, and Chief Risk Officer at Energy Impact Partners, based in New York. Prior to launching the investment firm in 2015, he spent 25 years as an executive at General Electric, where his senior leadership roles included Head of Business Development for GE Energy-Industrial Solutions and leader of GE Equity's Energy Technology Group. During his career, he also founded and led ICx Technologies, a sensor technology company that he subsequently took public on the Nasdaq exchange in 2007. Donnelly holds a Master of Aerospace Engineering with distinction from the Technical University of Munich, an MBA from the University of Texas at Austin, and attended the INSEAD MBA program. His current professional focus centers on advancing climate innovation, energy transition technologies, and infrastructure resilience across the global power, distribution, and energy management sectors.
