Michael Gotsche

Michael Gotsche is a Vice President at BASF Venture Capital based in Ludwigshafen, Germany. Before assuming his current investment role, he served as Vice President of Market Area Africa for BASF, where he managed operations across ten countries, oversaw more than 1,000 employees, and generated over €700 million in revenue across nine production sites. Earlier in his tenure at the multinational chemical corporation, he worked as Director of Mining Solutions for the Europe, Middle East, and Africa region, holding profit and loss responsibility for a €100 million business portfolio. He currently helps direct a €250 million evergreen fund targeting early-stage and growth-stage startups, while also serving as a board member at RITEC Umwelttechnik GmbH. Today, Gotsche focuses his strategic investments on advanced materials, decarbonization, and circular economy technologies aligned with the European Green Deal.
