Michael Ip

Michael Ip is a Partner at Blackbird Ventures based in Sydney, New South Wales, Australia, where he leads seed and Series A investments across the region. Prior to his current partnership, he served as a Principal at Airtree Ventures and held earlier venture capital roles at Square Peg Capital. At Blackbird, an investment firm with over $5 billion in assets under management, he has supported more than 50 startups and been involved with notable portfolio entities like Canva, SafetyCulture, and Linktree. His recent transaction activity includes leading a $100 million funding round for the artificial intelligence startup Nexlify in March 2026, alongside joining the firm's advisory board for portfolio operations.
