Michael J. Levinthal is an independent venture capitalist based in Park City, Utah, currently serving as an advisory board member for VSL Partners, Peak Ventures, and Decathlon Capital Partners. He previously spent 20 years as a Managing Partner at Mayfield Fund and worked early in his career at New Enterprise Associates, where he founded the incubation firm ONSET Ventures. Over his 30-year investing career, Levinthal has backed numerous enterprise companies, achieving notable exits including the $1 billion acquisition of Altiris by Symantec and a $600 million investment in One97 by Alibaba. He holds an MBA and two engineering degrees from Stanford University, and is also a co-patent holder for a networked defibrillator system. Today, his professional focus centers on advising early-stage software, enterprise technology, and consumer growth companies operating across the Intermountain region and Silicon Valley.
