Michael Mounajjed is the Founder and Chief Executive Officer of Durate, a healthcare automation startup based in San Francisco, California. Before entering the healthcare sector, he founded Calceus Mining during high school, where he optimized Ethereum mining rigs that processed tens of millions of dollars in cryptocurrency transactions. This early entrepreneurial success led to his induction into the Wisconsin Business Hall of Fame at age 16 before he enrolled at Rice University to study computer science and applied mathematics. Mounajjed subsequently dropped out of Rice to establish Durate in 2024 alongside a university peer, securing acceptance into Y Combinator's Fall 2024 batch under the mentorship of partner Nicolas Dessaigne. Leading a two-person team, his current focus centers on developing automated physician scheduling software designed to streamline administrative workflows for medical groups, clinics, and hospitals.
