Michael Roth

Michael Roth is a Principal at Valar Ventures, an early-stage venture capital firm based in New York City, New York. At the firm founded by Peter Thiel, he manages investments across a portfolio backed by over $1 billion in assets under management and a newly announced $200 million fund for the first quarter of 2025. Roth has been personally involved in more than ten investments, supporting global technology startups such as Wise, Brex, and Mercury, where Valar recently led a $30 million Series A funding round. Before joining Valar Ventures, he served as an investor at Founders Fund and held various investment analysis and operational roles at other technology funds. Holding a degree from Stanford University, Roth currently focuses on identifying and scaling seed and early-stage businesses within the financial technology, enterprise software, and consumer internet sectors.
