Michael Shephard

Michael Shephard is a Principal at Insight Partners, where he focuses on application software investments across Europe and North America. Since joining the venture capital firm in 2016, he has partnered with dozens of software and technology companies across five continents, specializing in enterprise resource planning, supply chain, and product-led software-as-a-service. Prior to his current role, he gained experience in the financial technology sector at iCapital Network and worked in middle-market private equity at Levine Leichtman Capital Partners. He graduated cum laude from the Wharton School at the University of Pennsylvania with a focus on venture finance and information systems, and was recently recognized on the 2025 Forbes 30 Under 30 list for venture capital. His current investment strategy centers on scaling growth-stage application software businesses and building deep operational relationships with technology founders.
