Michael Wert

Michael Wert is a Managing Director at Longitude Capital based in Menlo Park, California. He leads venture growth investments across biotechnology and medical technology, currently serving on the boards of WelbeHealth, On Belay Health, and Cortica, which he joined following a $60 million financing round. Prior to rejoining Longitude Capital in 2016, Wert was a Vice President at Warburg Pincus and began his career as a Senior Analyst in the global healthcare investment banking group at Merrill Lynch. His prior portfolio involvement includes serving as a board observer for Silk Road Medical before its acquisition by Boston Scientific. He holds an MBA from the Stanford Graduate School of Business and a BA from Whitman College. Wert's current focus remains on scaling healthcare companies that aim to improve clinical outcomes and reduce systemic costs.
