Michelle McCarthy

Michelle McCarthy is a Managing Director at Verizon Ventures, where she oversees strategic consumer investments and manages the venture team's daily operations. Prior to assuming her current position, she headed acquisitions and asset management at Verizon Capital, playing a key role in the telecommunications corporation's broader strategy and mergers and acquisitions. In her venture capital capacity, she targets advertising technology, artificial intelligence, and 5G infrastructure, notably participating in a $58.5 million Series A funding round for robotics developer Sanctuary Cognitive Systems in 2022. Recognized as a Global Corporate Venturing Rising Star in 2016, she holds a Master of Business Administration in finance from Georgetown University and a Bachelor of Arts in International Studies from American University.
