Mika Salmi is a Venture Partner at Lakestar Advisors based in Zurich, Switzerland. He previously served as Managing Partner at the European venture capital firm from 2020 to 2024, overseeing investment operations across its Zurich, Berlin, and London offices. Before entering venture capital, Salmi founded Atom Entertainment in 1998, growing the platform to 28 million monthly users before selling it to Viacom for $200 million in 2006. Following the acquisition, he became President of Global Digital Media at Viacom, managing a multibillion-dollar division with 1,500 employees across 30 brands, and later served as the founding CEO of CreativeLive. He holds an MBA from INSEAD, where he currently serves as a member of the board of directors. His current focus centers on early-stage venture and angel investments across the technology, digital media, gaming, and education sectors.
