Mirko Arnold is the Vice President of BASF Venture Capital, based in Ludwigshafen, Rhineland-Palatinate, Germany. In this leadership role, he manages a corporate venture capital portfolio exceeding €300 million across more than 20 global portfolio companies, focusing heavily on deep tech, climate tech, and the circular economy. He recently led a 2024 investment in the sustainable materials startup Nium and previously oversaw notable portfolio exits, including the acquisition of Seeo by Bosch. Prior to his current investment position, Arnold held various strategy, digital transformation, and business development roles within the broader BASF organization and earned an MBA degree from Mannheim Business School. Following his recent contributions to BASF's 2025 sustainability report, his current professional focus remains on identifying and funding emerging industrial biotechnology startups to drive long-term technological growth and innovation for large-scale corporate strategy.
