Moaffak Ahmed

Moaffak Ahmed is an angel investor and partner at Nordic Makers, where he currently manages a portfolio of over 60 early-stage technology companies. He previously co-founded the financial technology solutions provider Trema, now known as ION Trading, serving as the head of marketing and communications until his exit in 2004. During his tenure, he helped scale the enterprise to $50 million in annual revenues and more than 300 employees across nine global offices, securing major clients such as BMW and Citibank. Beyond his primary investment activities, Ahmed is a co-founder of the non-profit organization The Shortcut and actively mentors startups through the Slush technology conference. Drawing on over 25 years of international business development experience, his current focus centers on guiding idea and prototype-stage technology ventures through strategic positioning, business modeling, and corporate identity development.
