Nashilu Mouen Makoua

Nashilu Mouen Makoua is an independent angel investor and Scout at Sequoia Capital based in New York City. She earned her degree from the University of California, Berkeley, before building her foundational financial and venture experience through early career roles at Bridgewater Associates, Dorm Room Fund, and First Round Capital. Transitioning into startup operations, she served as the Head of Operations at Clay, an early-stage software company backed by First Round and Sequoia, where she managed growth initiatives until March 2022. Since May 2020, she has utilized her operating background to source technology investments for Sequoia Capital, while also engaging with global ecosystems as a judge for the September 2021 Impact Africa Elevator Pitch. Her current focus centers on identifying early-stage technology startups and providing founders with strategic capital, operational frameworks, and growth support.
