Neil Exter

Neil Exter is a Retired Partner at Third Rock Ventures based in Palm Beach Gardens, Florida. He originally joined the venture capital firm in 2007, bringing over 30 years of operating, business development, and strategy experience across the biotechnology and technology sectors. Previously, Exter served as the Chief Business Officer at Alantos Pharmaceuticals, where he directed the company's eventual sale to Amgen. Before that transaction, he was Vice President at Millennium Pharmaceuticals, managing corporate in-licensing and mergers and acquisitions, and held executive management positions at Hewlett Packard and Wang Laboratories. He holds a Bachelor of Science in Electrical Engineering from Cornell University, a Master of Science from Stanford University, and an MBA from Harvard Business School. His extensive career centers on the formation, strategic development, and operational scaling of emerging life sciences companies.
