Nicolas Grislain is a Staff Applied Scientist at Datadog based in Paris, France. Prior to his current position, he co-founded and served as Chief Science Officer at Sarus Technologies, a Y Combinator-backed data collaboration startup that grew to a team of 16 employees before its acquisition. Earlier in his entrepreneurial career, Grislain co-founded AlephD in 2012, directing the firm's research and development initiatives until it was acquired by Yahoo, later Verizon Media, in 2016. He holds academic degrees in mathematics and computer science from the École Normale Supérieure de Lyon, and he previously developed economic and financial models for Société Générale and the French Treasury. As an active technical researcher who presented at the USENIX PEPR22 conference, Grislain currently focuses on advancing machine learning and differential privacy technologies for secure enterprise software applications.
