Oded Shoseyov is a Venture Partner at Jerusalem Venture Partners and a Professor of Protein Engineering and Nanobiotechnology at the Hebrew University of Jerusalem, based in Rehovot, Israel. Throughout his academic and entrepreneurial career, he has authored over 350 scientific publications, secured more than 111 patents, and founded approximately 20 companies utilizing technologies developed in his laboratory. His commercial track record includes the $100 million sale of FuturaGene to the Brazilian pulp and paper company Suzano in 2010, representing a major exit in the biotechnology sector. He currently maintains active board positions at several materials science and biotechnology firms, including PlantArcBio and UBQ Materials, building upon his early postdoctoral research experience at UC Davis. Shoseyov focuses on leveraging plant molecular biology and nano-biotechnology to engineer sustainable industrial materials, advanced medical implants, and novel food products.
