Oliver Samwer

Oliver Samwer is a Germany-based serial entrepreneur currently serving as the Founder and Chief Executive Officer of Rocket Internet SE and an Investor at Global Founders Capital. He previously co-founded the online marketplace Alando.de, which was acquired by eBay, subsequently leading him to serve as Managing Director of eBay across Germany, Switzerland, and Austria. Samwer also co-founded Jamba! AG before its acquisition, and he later guided Rocket Internet to a 2014 initial public offering that valued the technology incubator at €4 billion. Under his executive leadership, the firm has launched more than 70 startups across over 100 countries, while his broader investment portfolio includes early stakes in recognizable technology companies like Facebook and LinkedIn. A graduate of the WHU Otto Beisheim School of Management, Samwer maintains a primary focus on scaling global internet, e-commerce, and digital payment businesses.
