Omar Hagrass

Omar Hagrass is the Cairo-based CEO and Co-Founder of Trella, a digital freight marketplace connecting shippers to carriers across the Middle East and Africa. Before launching Trella in 2018, he served as the Launch and Expansion EMEA Manager for Uber in the United Kingdom, where he spearheaded the rollout of Uber Eats across more than 50 cities, including Dubai and Cape Town. Earlier in his career, he spent three years as an Investment Banking Analyst at CI Capital after earning a bachelor's degree in political economy from the University of Oregon. Under his leadership, Trella has scaled its operations significantly, securing $42 million in combined equity and debt funding from prominent investors including Maersk and Raed Ventures. His professional focus centers on scaling technology-enabled marketplace businesses and modernizing trucking logistics infrastructure throughout emerging markets.
