Pamela Vagata

Pamela Vagata is the founder and leader of Pebblebed, an early-stage venture capital firm specializing in artificial intelligence technology investments. She holds a Bachelor of Arts in Computer Science and Mathematics from the University of Washington and began her career in technical engineering roles. During her subsequent tenure at Facebook, Vagata pioneered general-purpose computing on graphics processing units and created FBLearner Flow, a foundational software tool that remains in active industry use and helped establish the machine learning operations category. She later served as a founding member of the prominent research organization OpenAI before transitioning to Stripe, where she provided technical leadership for the financial technology company's artificial intelligence engineering team. Vagata currently leverages her extensive software engineering background to identify, fund, and support startups focused on machine learning infrastructure, operational tools, and advanced artificial intelligence applications.
