Patrick Fiedler

Patrick Fiedler is the Senior Vice President of Insurance at BASF, overseeing global corporate risk strategy for the multinational chemicals corporation. Since joining the global enterprise in 2002, he has held multiple leadership positions, including his 2018 appointment as head of group insurance and his concurrent roles as CEO of captive insurers Lucura Versicherungs and Lumerica Insurance. Fiedler is a founding member of MIRIS, a Brussels-based mutual cyber insurer established by European risk managers, and will assume the presidency of the German risk association GVNW in May 2025, succeeding industry executive Christian Böhm. He holds a Doctor of Law degree, having completed his extensive academic training at Ruprecht-Karls-Universität Heidelberg and Clare College Cambridge. His current professional focus centers on advancing captive insurance operations, cyber risk mitigation, and industrial risk management frameworks for large-scale manufacturing enterprises.
