Paul Asel

Paul Asel is a Venture Partner and co-founder at NGP Capital based in Silicon Valley. Backed by Nokia, the global venture firm manages $1.6 billion in assets following a $400 million commitment in 2022. Over his 25-year investment career, Asel has overseen more than $25 billion in cumulative deal value and secured over 20 successful exits, including five initial public offerings and four transactions exceeding $1 billion. Before establishing NGP Capital, he led technology investments in Southeast Asia for the International Finance Corporation, managed mergers and acquisitions at Cadence Design Systems, and worked in investment banking at Merrill Lynch. He holds a Master of Business Administration from Stanford University and a Bachelor of Arts from Dartmouth College. His current investment focus centers on technologies converging the physical and digital worlds, specifically targeting mobile sensors, robotics, and automated vehicles.
