Paul Gompers

Paul A. Gompers is the Eugene Holman Professor of Business Administration at Harvard Business School and the Co-Founder and Non-Executive Director of Spur Capital Partners, based in Boston, Massachusetts. Before returning to his alma mater to teach, he served as an Assistant Professor of Finance at the University of Chicago Booth School of Business. Throughout his academic career, he has co-authored three books on venture capital alongside Josh Lerner, published over 20 research papers in leading economic journals, and developed more than 50 business cases. Beyond his academic and fund-of-funds leadership, he holds ongoing advisory and board positions at prominent investment firms, including a long-standing role at Khosla Ventures since 2009. His current focus centers on entrepreneurial finance, institutional investors, corporate governance, and analyzing the performance metrics of high-growth startups and private equity funds.
