Pauliina Meskanen is the Co-Founder and CEO of Calectra and a Venture Partner at Climate Capital, based in the San Francisco Bay Area. She currently leads Calectra in developing proprietary high-temperature thermal storage technology capable of reaching 1600°C to decarbonize heavy manufacturing sectors like cement and steel. Under her leadership, the startup secured critical financial backing from the U.S. Department of Energy and recently won a $30,000 grant through a national cleantech inclusion award in November 2024. Previously, she earned her master's and bachelor's degrees in industrial engineering from Aalto University and served as the fourth employee at the venture-backed health-tech startup Kaiku Health before its successful acquisition. Operating as a 2024 Activate Fellow, Meskanen maintains a primary professional focus on advancing hard-tech climate innovations and scaling electrification solutions for heavy industrial process heating.
