Pete Briger

Pete Briger is the Executive Chairman of the Board of Directors and Managing Partner at Fortress Investment Group, based in Menlo Park, California. In this capacity, he oversees the firm's extensive credit and real estate businesses, helping manage approximately $53 billion in total assets as of August 2025. Before joining Fortress and serving as its Co-CEO until 2024, he spent 15 years at Goldman Sachs, where he was named a partner in 1996. Beyond his primary executive duties, he joined the board of directors for Strategy in July 2025 and agreed to acquire a 3.2 percent ownership stake in the San Francisco 49ers later that year. Holding a bachelor's degree from Princeton University and a master's degree from the Wharton School, Briger maintains a primary focus on distressed debt, real estate, and private equity investments.
