Pete Hayes

Pete Hayes is the Founder and CEO of Middleburg Venture Partners and a Partner at Blu Venture Investors, based in the Mid-Atlantic region. Over a 35-year career in the technology sector, he held senior executive roles including Chief Sales Officer at Equinix and Executive Vice President of Commercial Sales and Support during an eight-year tenure at Frontier Communications. Previously, Hayes spent 14 years in senior leadership positions at Microsoft from 1991 to 2005, following early management roles at IBM. At Blu Venture Investors, he joined the Cyber Fund Administrative Committee in 2013 and helps direct follow-on investments representing approximately 50% of the firm's deployed capital. He currently focuses on early-stage venture capital and private equity investments within the technology, media, and telecom sectors, holding six to ten active board positions including Chairman of Seabras.
