Peter Baines

Peter Baines is a Partner at Ahren Innovation Capital, where he invests in deep technology and deep science companies from pre-seed to pre-IPO stages. He brings over 25 years of venture capital experience to the firm, having previously spent two decades as a General Partner at Advent Venture Partners from 1999 to 2019. Before his tenure at Advent, Baines served as an Investment Director at Schroder Ventures between 1993 and 1999, and worked as a Senior Consultant at PWC Consulting. He began his career as a software engineer at Picker after completing his education at Imperial College London, and currently holds board positions including Chair at Action Tutoring and Trustee at The Kemnall Academies Trust. His current investment focus centers on partnering with scientists whose technologies exceed $100 billion in value across artificial intelligence, genetics, robotics, and efficient energy.
