Peter Gunder

Peter Gunder is a Venture Partner at American Family Ventures and the Chief Business Development Officer at American Family Mutual Insurance Company, based in Madison, Wisconsin. In his venture role, he helps oversee a corporate venture capital fund with more than $700 million in assets under management that evaluates over 1,500 companies annually and has backed more than 100 startups. Previously, he served as co-founder and Chief Investment Officer at Cardinal Investment Advisors and helped lead the New York Stock Exchange initial public offering for MMI Companies. He holds a bachelor's degree in mechanical engineering from Stanford University and a Master of Business Administration in finance from the University of Chicago Booth School of Business. Gunder currently focuses on driving corporate strategy and venture investments across the insurtech, fintech, data analytics, and cybersecurity sectors.
