Peter Thompson

Peter Thompson is a General Partner at OrbiMed Advisors based in Bellevue, Washington. With over 25 years of experience in the healthcare and life sciences sectors, he previously held senior executive management positions at Becton-Dickinson and Chiron Corporation. Thompson co-founded and served as Chief Executive Officer of Trubion Pharmaceuticals, while also co-founding Corvus Pharmaceuticals, Cleave Biosciences, and Silverback Therapeutics. A board-certified internist and oncologist who completed his medical training at Yale University and Brown University, he holds numerous patents and maintains an affiliate professorship at the University of Washington. He currently serves as a director for multiple public biotechnology companies, including Alpine Immune Sciences and Edgewise Therapeutics since 2017. His current investment strategy focuses on identifying Series A and Series B stage healthcare startups operating at the intersection of biotechnology, digital health, and artificial intelligence.
