Petrus Ng

Petrus Ng is the Managing Director of BASF Venture Capital, the corporate venture arm of multinational chemical company BASF SE. In this role, he oversees strategic investments from a €250 million evergreen fund, typically directing $1 million to $5 million in initial equity toward early-stage startups. The firm maintains a portfolio of 49 active companies, including notable investments in LanzaTech, DePoly, Oceanworks, and ph7 Technologies. Ng has spent over three decades with the conglomerate since joining in 1990, previously serving in regional leadership positions such as Managing Director of BASF Vietnam and Managing Director of BASF Thailand. Throughout his corporate tenure, he managed operations across Southeast Asia before transitioning into the venture capital sector. His current investment focus centers on identifying technologies related to carbon dioxide reduction, the circular economy, advanced materials, and artificial intelligence.
