Philip Fradkin is the Co-founder of blank.bio and a PhD student specializing in machine learning and genomics at the University of Toronto. Prior to beginning his doctoral studies, he served as a Computational Biologist at Deep Genomics, where he focused on translating foundational machine learning and genomics research into actionable pre-clinical applications. His current startup venture, blank.bio, is actively developing advanced RNA foundation models and recently secured acceptance into the highly competitive Y Combinator Summer 2025 accelerator batch. Throughout his academic career, Fradkin has published notable research, including a best paper award at the prestigious NeurIPS Foundation Models for Science workshop, and proposed the MolPhenix model for joint molecular-cellular learning in drug discovery. His overarching professional focus remains on leveraging self-supervised contrastive training and data-efficient learning techniques to accelerate molecular discovery and advance cellular phenomics.
