Philip M. Bilden

Philip M. Bilden is the Founder and Managing Partner of Shield Capital, an early-stage venture capital firm based in the United States. Prior to establishing the firm in 2020, he served as a Managing Director and co-founding member of HarbourVest Partners, a global investment firm with $150 billion in assets under management. He previously held a corporate board director position at Huntington Ingalls Industries and served in the United States Army Reserve as a military intelligence officer. At Shield Capital, Bilden directs pre-seed and seed investments ranging from $100,000 to $5 million across artificial intelligence, cybersecurity, and aerospace startups, recently closing an oversubscribed $186 million debut venture fund.
