Phylicia Koh

Phylicia Koh is a General Partner at Play Ventures based in Singapore, where she leads early-stage investments across gaming, consumer applications, and adjacent technologies. Joining the firm as its first employee, she currently directs Seed to Series A funding rounds with typical check sizes ranging from $500,000 to $5 million per company. Her recent investment portfolio includes leading a $10.4 million Series A for the Gen Z financial application Alinea, backing the faith-based platform BibleChat, and funding Alter, an avatar startup subsequently acquired by Google. Prior to venture capital, Koh spent nine years driving marketing and growth initiatives at organizations including Mighty Bear Games, Homage, and the Singapore Economic Development Board. As an investor, she currently focuses on identifying startups that successfully integrate gaming mechanics, live operations, and in-app economies into broader consumer technology platforms.
