Rachel Slaybaugh is a General Partner at DCVC, focusing on venture capital investments across climate, sustainability, and energy technologies. Previously, she served as a tenured Associate Professor of Nuclear Engineering at the University of California, Berkeley, and as a Division Director at the Lawrence Berkeley National Laboratory. Slaybaugh also worked as a Program Director at the Department of Energy’s ARPA-E, creating the agency's nuclear fission program while managing portfolios spanning agriculture, solar, and virtual reality. She holds three degrees in the field, including a bachelor's from Pennsylvania State University, where she was a licensed nuclear reactor operator, alongside a master's and doctorate from the University of Wisconsin-Madison. Beyond co-founding the Good Energy Collective, her current focus centers on scaling advanced nuclear energy innovations and commercializing deep technology solutions for the global climate transition.
